Scuba diving
I started scuba diving in 2002 and I got my 3d french level (between PADI Rescue Diver and PADI MAster Scuba Diver) in Jan. 2007 in Moorea (French Polynesia) with the best teacher : Dom.
Lots of exercices around 40m (130ft), ... kinda stressful sometimes, but really efficient ! :-)
Lemon sharks, grey sharks, white tips, black tips, eagle rays, turtles, rose gardens at 50m (165ft), ... pure joy !
Hawaiian waters, at least around Oahu, have a lower diversity, but lots and lots of turtles.
Hiking
Hawaii offers numerous hiking opportunities : high mountains (both Mauna Loa and Mauna Kea summits are around 13000ft), volcanos on the Big Island and Maui, cliffs, ridges, waterfalls, beaches, ...
